Imagine a half-pizza cooked in a pan, stuffed with your favorite cold cuts, mozzarella, and fresh basil. Easy to knead, even easier to cook. Sounds like a dream? Nope — it’s a ridiculously simple and highly customizable recipe.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

The dough:
– 250 g all-purpose flour
– 3 tbps olive oil
– a pinch of salt
– 120 g lukewarm water
– 1 tbps dry yeast

Filling:
– Prosciutto, salami, or leftover roast pork
– Low-moisture mozzarella, cut into chunks
– Fresh basil leaves
– Extra drizzle of olive oil

Instructions

  1. Quick Dough
Mix dry and wet: In a bowl, add flour, yeast, olive oil, water, and salt. Stir, then knead by hand for 10 minutes. Cover and let the dough rise for 30 minutes.
  2. Shape the Calzone
Roll: Divide dough into 2 disks of equal size.
Stuff: Place cured meat, mozzarella chunks, and basil on one disk. Drizzle with olive oil.
Seal: Cover with the second disk and fold or crimp edges to close tightly.
  3. Cook in a Skillet
Heat: Add a drizzle of olive oil to a non-stick skillet with lid.
Cook: Place calzone inside, cover, and cook over medium-low heat, about 3–4 minutes per side.
